MI ROBOTICS

SMART ROBOTS – SMARTER RESULTS

We make robots that get the job done. It sounds simple, but in a world of over-engineered solutions and underwhelming results, it’s a promise we take seriously.

With a decade of experience, we’ve honed our skills to design and manufacture mechatronic systems requiring robotic motion. Our engineering expertise spans mechanical, electronic, and software design, enabling us to create both prototypes and complete products that are proven to perform.

OUR PROJECTS

Every project we work on tells a story – a challenge solved, a goal achieved, a vision brought to life:

MOBILE ROBOTIC
PLATFORMS

Remote-controlled and equipped with real-time motion algorithms, our mobile robotic platforms – like AGITO – earned their stripes on film & TV sets, delivering smooth, stabilized shots trusted by production pros. Now, they’re stepping into industrial roles – handling surveillance, inspection, and payload support with the same precision and reliability.

Autonomy ready, these platforms play nicely with automation systems and adapt to just about anything, thanks to their modular design, which offers a range of customizable options, including drive-ends, wheels, payload support, elevation systems, and control interfaces, ensuring they’re perfectly suited to your needs.

DIRECT DRIVE LINEAR MOTION ACTUATORS

As an applications partner for IRIS Dynamics, we specialize in designing linear motion control solutions around their innovative actuator technology. Whether it’s for single-axis or multi-axis systems, our extensive experience ensures every product doesn’t just meet expectations – it brakes them (literally). Take, for instance, the actuator we developed for controlling a brake pedal in autonomous passenger and goods vehicles.

It’s a masterpiece of PCB design for embedded motion control, real-time motion algorithms, and embedded software development. Put to the test on European highways and off-road trails in the US, it met strict mechanical, electrical, software, and safety standards – all while delivering dependable performance.

MULTI-DEGREE OF FREEDOM MOTION CONTROL AND STABILIZATION

Our ReACTIVE 6-DOF platform is engineered to stabilize high-value, high-performance video camera systems from moving vehicles. Using 6 or 8 linear actuators in a Stewart platform configuration (known as Hexapod or Octopod, for the technically inclined), coupled with IMU technology, it makes real-time adjustments to tackle bumps, shakes, and parallax distortion.

But ReACTIVE isn’t just for cameras. By integrating linear motion technology, real-time motion control algorithms, and embedded software development, it delivers millisecond latencies, making it suited to a range of other applications requiring precise positioning or stabilization.

A50 MINATURE SCREW ACTUATOR

Proof that big things really do come in small packages, our A50 is a low-cost, high-performance screw actuator designed to deliver precise linear motion with impressive force and speed in a compact, efficient package.

Originally developed for our mobile robotic platforms, the A50 is equally at home in a variety of other roles, including automation systems requiring precise positioning, robotics where accuracy in tight spaces is essential, and industrial machinery demanding controlled and repeatable motion.

HANDHELD REMOTE-CONTROL INTERFACES

The Master Controller puts you in command of our mobile robotic platforms. Engineered with remote control systems and a selection of RF hardware for remote control, it features a 4.3-inch graphic display for real-time performance stats and haptic feedback for satisfying, tactile confirmation.

Simple to use for basic control, it also handles advanced tasks like fine-tuning acceleration and deceleration curves to suit specific payloads and terrains, replaying recorded movements, and smooth vertical control via built-in rockers for our elevation systems like the AGITO Tower and AGITO Column.

WHY MI ROBOTICS?

Because we don’t overcomplicate things. At MI Robotics, we’re all about creating tools you can trust to make work smarter, safer, and smoother.

As a division of Motion Impossible, we’ve built on more than a decade of experience perfecting our craft in the demanding world of film & TV to expand into industrial applications – bringing the same reliability and precision to everything from automation to stabilization.

Every product is designed and built in-house at our Bristol, UK HQ, where we have the facilities and expertise for both mechanical and electrical assembly of complete mechatronic systems. This hands-on approach ensures quality at every step, from engineering to testing, so that every product meets our high standards.

But we don’t stop at what’s already working. Through collaboration with industry leaders, we integrate advanced hazard detection, environmental mapping, and risk assessment into our systems. And we’re always looking ahead, exploring partnerships in communications, imaging, and intelligence systems.
